The Best Brunch in Port Melbourne: A Local Guide

Port Melbourne has quietly become one of the best brunch neighbourhoods in the city. Once known as an industrial stretch and a ferry terminal, the suburb now hums with morning walkers, bay-side joggers, café regulars and remote workers who all share the same unspoken agreement: brunch is sacred.

What makes a great brunch spot

A great brunch spot is more than good food. It is the coffee that arrives before you ask. The seat near the window that always feels open. The table that does not rush you. The menu that has something for the vegan friend and the carnivore at the same table. Port Melbourne has become a neighbourhood that understands this.

Our take on brunch

At Lush Social House, our brunch menu sits somewhere between the classic and the unexpected. Our Golden Nest Benedict pairs poached eggs with a crisp golden potato lattice, chilli béarnaise and caviar. Our Emerald Avocado is served on toasted black charcoal bread with sundried tomato hummus, pomegranate and dukkha. Our Velvet Noir is red velvet pancakes with mascarpone chantilly, dark chocolate ganache and pistachio crumble — the kind of dish you order for yourself and end up sharing.

We open at 7am daily. The coffee is on, the kitchen is ready, and the seat by the window is waiting.
