A wine bar is not a restaurant with wine. It is a completely different kind of room. The lighting is softer. The tables are smaller. The pace is slower. The menu is shorter but deeper. The server knows what is open, what is drinking well tonight, and what will pair with the small plate you are considering.
The Port Melbourne gap
Port Melbourne has plenty of restaurants and no shortage of pubs. What it did not have, until now, was a proper wine bar — the kind of place where you can drop in for a single glass on the way home, or settle in for three hours with a bottle and a shared board. Our evenings are built for exactly that.
Our wine philosophy
Our list is curated rather than comprehensive. We favour small producers, natural and low-intervention wines where the style fits, and classic selections from regions we trust. Every wine on our list is there because we believe in it — not because we were offered a deal.
“A wine list should be an edit, not an encyclopedia.”
Come by in the evening. Candles will be lit, the jazz will be soft, and we will help you find the right glass for the right mood.
